I joined my first job at Unilever in 1992. For many years I struggled with defining “culture” for myself. I heard advice like “you must create a winning culture in your team” or statements like “this is not our culture” and always wondered – how do you define culture and how do you measure culture. Then sometime in the late 90s, I stumbled upon two sentences that put everything into perspective : Culture is the way we do things here Culture is not taught it is caught. These two sentences embedded in me a belief that I carry even today – culture is created and embedded by leaders walking the talk. This story about Jacques Kallis by Joy Bhattacharjya brings alive the same belief. A story definitely worth listening to For more #storiesatwork do subscribe to our YouTube channel which has two playlists – #StoryBank and #LeaderSpeak. With nearly 80 stories.
